After carefully
reviewing the application and credentials for P-W, the Admission Committee
has placed him in the wait pool for 2014-2015 admission.
In light of this year's
large group of applicants and the available number of spaces, the Admission Committee
had to place many strong candidates in the wait pool at this time. Being placed
in the wait pool indicates that the Committee wishes to keep P-W in
consideration.
With P-W in mind, the Admission Committee will continue to monitor next year's enrollment picture. If fewer admitted students enroll than expected, we then will consider those in the wait pool for admission. If and when we can offer PoW a place for next fall, I will contact you immediately. We may be able to offer Po-Wei a position in the near future. In that case, I might call you on or near the admitted students' response deadline, March 24. It is also possible that spots become available later in the year or summer, as a small number of families sometimes experience unexpected changes in their lives and plans. It is also possible that P-W could remain in the wait pool without being offered a place.

inconclusive nature of the wait pool. Nonetheless, we want to give applicants
with demonstrated potential every opportunity to be considered for admission.
We do not rank students
in the wait pool. Instead, if a position becomes available, we will evaluate
which applicant would best complete the group of enrolled students. If you have
